Explore Our Preschool Program in Stayner and Wasaga Beach
At Tiny-Shiny Childcare, our Preschool Program is designed for children ages 2 ½ to 6 years old. During this important stage of development, children are encouraged to explore activities that spark their curiosity and interests, while our educators thoughtfully plan experiences based on each child’s individual learning style and interests. Through engaging daily activities, preschoolers begin building early skills in colours, shapes, numbers, and letters while developing confidence, independence, and social skills through play and interaction with others.
Children are provided with a nutritious lunch and two healthy snacks each day in accordance with the Ontario Food Guide. The program also includes a daily nap or rest period along with two hours of outdoor playtime. Our teacher-to-child ratio is 1:8, allowing educators to provide attentive support and guidance throughout the day. The Preschool Program is available at both our Stayner and Wasaga Beach locations, subject to availability.
Program Focus
Our Preschool Program focuses on helping children build the skills they need for a successful transition to kindergarten. Through age-appropriate activities and guided learning experiences, children develop early literacy, communication, problem-solving, and social skills while gaining confidence in a classroom environment.
Learning Through Play
We believe children learn best through play. Our program encourages hands-on exploration, creativity, and discovery through activities such as arts and crafts, sensory play, music, storytelling, dramatic play, and outdoor experiences that support cognitive, emotional, and physical development.

Communication with Families
We value strong communication with families and believe parents are an important part of a child’s learning journey. Our educators maintain open, ongoing communication through daily updates on the LILLIO app, along with regular conversations and support to help families stay connected to their child’s experiences and development.
Hours of Operation
Our daily programming begins at 7:30 AM. To help children fully benefit from the program and participate in planned learning activities, we encourage all children to arrive by 9:00 AM, and no later than 10:00 AM. Late arrivals will only be permitted under special circumstances, such as medical or dental appointments, and must be approved by the supervisor in advance.
