Our Philosophy
Tiny-Shiny Childcare has a strong commitment to providing a progressive and consistently high-quality childcare service where the needs of both the children and the families are met. As dedicated Early Childhood Professionals, we believe that children are unique individuals who learn and develop skills through the process of exploration within an educational, play-based curriculum. We think each child can become independent in the areas of self-help skills, decision-making and socialization. Through a variety of areas in play, Tiny-Shiny Childcare believes that each child can learn to develop their language and communication skills while having fun. Tiny-Shiny Childcare's management and staff members have a desire to promote a mutually beneficial partnership with all families and the greater community, integrating culturally diverse backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes.
Our Early Childhood Educators
Our experienced and qualified early childhood educators carefully plan and supervise daily routines that encourage learning, creativity, and healthy development. Every staff member holds current Standard First Aid Level C and CPR certification to help ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care.
At Tiny-Shiny Childcare, our team is also passionate about early childhood education and continues to participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and teaching practices. This commitment allows us to provide high-quality child care and enriching experiences for children of all ages.
Nutrition
Healthy meals and snacks are an important part of every child’s day at Tiny‑Shiny Childcare. We provide a nutritious morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack to support children’s growth and energy. Monthly menus are posted for families, making it easy to plan meals at home. All meals follow the Canadian Food Guide and the Early Learning Child Care Act and provide about two‑thirds of a child’s daily nutritional needs.
